European school of Photovoltaics
Date de l'évènement : du 8 février 2009 au 13 février 2009
Physics of solar cells: from basics to last developments"
The scope of the present school concerns the physics of solar cells. This thematic has recently undergone a tremendous period of development. Indeed, with annual growth of 40% from one hand and the strong demand for promoting clean energy for facing global warming on the other hand, solar cells area is receiving much attention. It has become recently exceptionally attractive to both the scientific and industry community.
Improving photovoltaic (PV) efficiency as well as modules lifetime while decreasing at the same time the cost of PV energy require innovation and a good knowledge of the different mechanisms which are involved in the conversion from photons to electricity. This European school will focus on the main important domains explaining both physical phenomena as well as materials specificities, from the basics to the very last development. The main perspectives for the future will also be presented.
